We have worked continuously to provide opportunities that will inspire at-risk youngsters as part of our focus on youth and community development. The Metropolitan Community Action Services Corporation sponsors Young African American Male Conferences and workshops. Our theme is "Success by Choice".
The purpose of conferences and workshops are to empower Young African American Males towards individual achievement and success by presenting informative discussion panels on how to succeed while overcoming obstacles. The conference and workshops offer self-help, personal development, life, educational, and career skills. The workshops are designed to help participants plan and prepare for individual achievement and success by making effective life, educational and career choices.
Young African American males are an at risk group, and many in this group are skeptical and cynical about their future. It is not unusual to hear young African American males say that they do not expect to survive adolescence and reach adulthood. Our belief is that community action can be effective with combined efforts to help our yourng African American men in their quest to grow, succeed with meaningful contributions to society. We invite you to partner with us by becoming a corporate or individual sponsor. You can be the one who contributes to the success of these young men and our community.
